UK Psychology Ltd
People think ‘I have to be in crisis,’ or ‘the intensity of the issue has to be so bad that I go to therapy’. But often people can benefit from therapy for something as simple as needing help reaching a specific goal.
At UK Psychology we aim to help you with whatever emotional difficulty you are going through, whether this is psychological treatment for a specific mental health problem or an issue you are struggling to cope with, including:
- Traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
- Low mood and depression
- Addiction
- Stress
- Recurrent panic attacks
- Social anxiety problems
- Low Self-esteem and confidence
- Generalised anxiety disorder
- Health anxiety
- Adjustment difficulties
These common problems can occur at any stage in a person’s life. Sometimes they can occur as if ‘out of the blue’ without a clear trigger or reason. Whilst for others they can result from stressful life events, traumatic experiences or sometimes when one has to live with a persistent physical health problem.
While most people who come for therapy have identified specific problems that they would like to overcome, for others it is sometimes hard for them to pinpoint exactly what is wrong. It may be that their personal relationships are strained, or because they are worrying excessively and feel unhappy and they can not seem to figure out the reason why or how to make it better. When this is the case the first place to start is to make sense of what is happening and then, if it is appropriate, commence a course of psychological therapy to address and overcome the problems identified.
